Having spent 2 weeks bobbing on a mooring at St Helena, we headed up to Ascension Island.
It took just short of 5 days to get here, with a 5 to 10 knot following wind all the way.
We weren't really racing along.
My dear darling Gerda still testing out her weight loss programme but with not as quite as mush enthuasism.
Only puked ONE time!
On the way we caught a Dorado of about 15 kg, so the freezer is now full of fish.
On arrival at 23:00 in the very dark while it was drizzling, (flippen tricky) there were so many fish, just about jumping in to the boat while we were anchoring, Alex James and I fished till 3 in the morning catching Blackjack on our little rods (what good fun) they would just take a empty hook dragged through the water.
Diving has been awesome. 15m some days to 30m vis on others. water temp 27deg C
Only problem is my dive compressor 3rd stage seized (bugger) so now for the moment it is just snorkeling.
Yesterday we went up Green Montain, into the Clouds and huge forest. Chased crazy feral sheep, caught Land Crab, and picked Bananas SA style.
What an interesting rock! At least the weather here is great. So too are the beaches.
There are only 650 people here (total) so everybody knows everybody, and that includes them knowing us. The Saints Club is the Local hang out. And then we all move to the Volcano Club at the American Base for Burgers (good value)
Some Photos.
More tomorrow
