Jacare to Atol Das Rocas to Forteleza

Well the People in the Brazilian Government have proven to be as inflexible as the Nationalist Party, and about as intelligent!!!!
We sailed to Atol das Rocas. This beautiful little Atol in the middle of nowhere. Anchored in the dark, and immediately received a call on the radio from the researcher station. There is a researcher, Barbara, who seemed quite helpful and happy for us to come ashore, and a Government official "Frederick" who would not have anything to do with it. he would not budge.
"WHO ARE YOU, YOU MAY NOT COME HERE, YOU MUST LEAVE, YOU MAY MOT COME ASHORE, THAT IS THE LAW.............BLA BLA BLA"....... Ya ya!!!

So, we sailed to Forteleza to check out of Brazil, and have done that now.
Now Forteleza is also not a great destination.
Three of the cruisers were mugged outside the Port Captains office here yesterday and lost all their papers, Passports and Boat Papers as they had gone to check out.
You cannot go anywhere and expect to be mugged on every corner.

GOOD LUCK BRAZIL, WITH THE WORLD CUP.......... Tourists be prepared!!!!!

Merry Christmas and ALL the Best for the NEW YEAR !!!!!!!!!
We have been pretty much just chilling here for the last 2 weeks.
The average daily temp is 32 C and the water is the same. Thank goodness there is a good supplier of very cold beer near by.

Tomorrow. Monday we plan to check out with Customs and Immigration, and then set sail for Atol das Rocas, 3 52 S x 33 49 W,
then Ihla du Lancois, 2 20 S x 44 57 W,
Iles du Salut 5 17 N x 52 35 W and Kouru (French Guiana),
Surinam, up the river, Nickerie 5 57 N x 57 00 W ,
and then to Tobago, 11 20 N x 60 33 W.

Each stop will be about 3 to 10 days HAHAHAHAAAA
We are really not stressed about the time. CLEARLY, but we would like to get to Tobago and put our feet up. But first Atol das Rocas. The highest point is a sand dune which is 6m above sea level at low tide.

Hello From Brazil
Having left Ascension after our brief stay of (8 days which ended up being 28 days), set sail for Brazil which should have been a 8 to 10 day trip. Not much wind in the middle made for slow progress, so we managed to get to Cabedlo in 11 which was not too bad. For a change G was not sick..... except maybe one time
The water has increased in temp to 31deg and so has the air. Brazilian Portuguese is not easy, but so far the people have been great and we have not been mugged. Perhaps tomorrow. HAHAHAHAHA!!!
